Women Life Freedom: Iranian Women’s Voices Unveiled Coming to the Ordway!

March 30 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

The Twin Cities Iranian Culture Collective is proud to present Voices Unveiled, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, 345 Washington St. Saint Paul.

Voices Unveiled is an innovative music ensemble established in November 2022 by Ehsan Matoori, a virtuoso santoor player and accomplished composer. Collaborating with two extraordinary Iranian female vocalists, Maliheh Moradi and Mina Deris, who recently relocated to the United States from Iran, the ensemble brings a unique blend of talent and cultural richness to the stage. In addition to Matoori, Moradi and Deris, the ensemble will include drummer Yahya Alkhansa, Aidin Ahmadinejad on cello, Mehrpouya Daneshvar on clarinet, and two local guest artists, violist Niloofar Sohi and Liz Draper on standup bass.

You don’t need to speak Farsi or Arabic to appreciate the music and the message of this powerful work – while the songs are sung in Farsi and Arabic, an English translation will be projected on a large screen behind the stage.
