Veils Veins Void – A Contemporary Dance Production

Veils Veins Void offers a strong new voice in contemporary dance to the Twin Cities community. Choreographed by Ruby Josephine Smith, with a vast, expansive original score composed by Cooper Lee Smith, this ambitious work brings to the stage an epic journey through intangible landscapes of the spirit and soul.

Imagining what happens when the veils between our material world and the spirit world drop, we follow 8 dancing explorers through this dramatic, intimate and soul-shifting adventure. Each section takes us through different layers of this revealed space; an exterior awakening in Veils, an interior meditation in Veins, and facing the great eternal unknown in Void. Feelings resonate, revelations emerge, and questions remain beautifully unanswered. The performance weaves together elements of mythology, mysticism, and a uniquely complex, fluid and captivating movement vocabulary to create an experience that will deeply move you.
