Summer Family Days

Bring the whole family to Historic Fort Snelling for a specially planned day of family-friendly activities.

Interact with the fort in the many ways people have throughout the site’s varied history. Play historic games and attend a one-room school lesson (don’t worry—no pop quizzes!). Lend a hand to the fort’s laundry washing and prepare dinner in the kitchen. Help us build a log cabin and learn how to send a message with signal flags. Watch a demo of how a rifle works and learn to load a cannon. You can even learn to make your own sundial so you can tell time just by the sun overhead!
