SOLIDARITY STREET GALLERY 2024 is an annual, one-of-a-kind fine-art exhibition and cultural celebration along Payne Avenue, between Phalen Blvd and Lawson Ave. For three days on October 4 + 5 + 6, the avenue will transform into a lively street fair. The theme this year is MIGRATION & MEMORIES, acknowledging and celebrating that everyone came from somewhere. Visual artist, musicians, and poets will weave together a one-of-a-kind multi-cultural tapestry of the migration stories and cultural memories of the diverse communities who call the East Side of St. Paul their home. About 25 gallery and business locations will exhibit fine art, indoors and in storefront windows, creating a walkable ‘Street Gallery’ spanning 6 city blocks. Some locations will also offer live music and poetry readings – or set up tables along the sidewalks and offer food or retail specials during the celebration. Additional vendors and non-profit community organizations will also host tables or booths.
Our event offers a great way to see high-quality art; learn about other cultures and their histories; engage with artists in important conversations about shared experiences and memories; make new connections and friendships; and join in solidarity with neighbors to build community.
The event is free and open to all.
