Slavic Experience, the first and only festival of its kind in Minnesota, returns for a third year on August 3 and 4 at a new location, The ROC (3700 Monterey Drive) in St. Louis Park from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
The free event creates an inclusive and welcoming space for people of Slavic heritage to commemorate, celebrate, and share the richness and diversity of Eastern and Central European traditions. There will be a fashion show featuring fashion designer Olga Greenberg, a talent show, Pączki eating contest, Pierogi making contest, an art workshop, activities for kids, and more!
Slavic Experience will also include performances by Polka King Hank Thunander, SlovCzech, and Verka Serduchka. Tatry Polish Highlander Folkloric Ensemble will provide a wonderful dance experience as well. Plus, award-winning author of “Polish Your Kitchen” culinary books, Anna Hurning, will be a special guest of the festival.
Experience culinary delights from Eastern and Central European cultures including kielbasa, cabbage rolls, pierogi, burek, pickle soup, pastries, Slavic beers, and traditional beverages as well.
