‘Not Your Mother’s Mahabharata’: A Dirty Old Man & The Young Fish-Lady

February 2 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

$12

Stories will include A Dirty Old Man and The Young Fish-Lady.

The Mahabharata is this epic Indian work that encapsulates a great deal of classic Indian Mythology. It is a magnificent story that is constantly being rewritten and retold since its inception thousands of years ago.

This show (based on the podcast also done by S.P. Jayaraj) will tell you different tales from the Mahabharat in each performance using modern colorful language that makes it accessible, memorable, and above all, entertaining. It is a labor of devotion to the Mahabharat quite unlike others you might see.

Teller Bio:
S.P. Jayaraj loves bringing people together through stories. He has authored two mythological fantasy books The Secret of the Zipacna Dragons and Legacy of the Crow. He draws inspiration from global mythology. As the host of ‘Not Your Mother’s Mahabharata’ Satish tells a story conversationally to his wife and friends, most of whom have never heard of the tale. Listeners are treated to their entertainingly honest first reactions. The conversational approach allows variations of the story to also be told, as well as the chance to pick apart ideas that the Mahabharat brings to the forefront.
