Internationally Recognized Artist and Speaker Day Schildkret for a Weekend of Art, Ritual and Remembrance

August 3 & 4 (Saturday & Sunday)

A special two-day “Learn @ Lakewood” event featuring earth artist and author Day Schildkret that includes a moderated talk with the author/artist about the intersections of art, ritual and nature on Saturday, and hands-on workshops where people can learn his 7-step Morning Altars practice on Sunday.

Art and Ritual: An Evening with Day Schildkret

$35 in advance / $45 at the door – Tickets

Moderated by MPR host and End in Mind founder Cathy Wurzer, this intimate discussion held in Lakewood’s historic Memorial Chapel, will explore how artist and author Day Schildkret’s nature-based practice has inspired people around the world to mark key milestones, reflect on life, and remember loved ones who have died. A reception held in Lakewood’s brand-new Welcome Center will follow, with the chance to connect with the author and others interested in his practice.

Morning Altars Workshops – Two Sessions Available
August 4: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM OR 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
$50 in advance / $60 at the door – Tickets

In these interactive sessions, Day will guide attendees through his 7-step Morning Altars practice, creating unique mandalas out of natural, foraged materials. Following the creation process, attendees will have an opportunity to share stories and discuss their experiences as part of this mindful practice.
