Global Minnesota is back in person with a social hour and global conversation on July 26! Many nations within Africa continue to have among the lowest vaccination rates in the world. Despite improvements in healthcare infrastructure both before and after the outbreak of COVID-19, significant work remains to prevent a variety of infectious diseases throughout the continent. What is the state of Africa’s infectious disease prevention and how can Minnesota help alleviate this significant problem in global health equity? Hear from a panel of global health experts from countries such as Cameroon, Ethiopia, Kenya, Morocco, and Uganda. Join the conversation beginning at 6:00 pm CDT at the Hennepin County Library.
To celebrate a return to in-person programming, Global Minnesota will precede the presentation and panel discussion with a networking social hour beginning at 5:00 pm CDT, also at the Hennepin County Library. Reconnect with fellow global citizens and make new lifelong connections over an assortment of appetizers and soft drinks. You’ll also get the chance to meet with panelists from the Minnesota Department of Health and the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota.
