The Edina Chorale is thrilled to once again be presenting its annual Pops concert titled “True Colors” on Saturday, June 4th at 7:00pm and Sunday, June 5th at 3:00pm. Both concerts will be performed at Calvary Christian Reformed Church (5300 France Ave S, Edina, MN) with an additional livestream viewing option on Saturday that will be available during and after the event for a limited time.
Additionally, the Chorale is delighted to announce its special guest artist for this event – the 2022 Saint Paul Winter Carnival’s Klondike Kate, Tina Hacker. Tina was formerly a long-time member of the choir, and the group is thrilled to welcome her back. Tina will be featured singing a few songs specifically chosen for her.
“True Colors” embraces and celebrates the individual colors that together create harmony in our world through an eclectic combination of old meets new. This concert features music from TV and cinema, such as “Over the Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz, and selections from The Muppets, and classics such as “Blue Moon” and Nat King Cole’s “Orange Colored Sky.” In addition, audiences will hear Broadway favorites from Wicked and The Greatest Showman. At the center of the concert is a spectacular new arrangement of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors,” and other hits from popular rock artists The Beatles, Neil Young, and Electric Light Orchestra. With standards made famous through radio, Broadway, and cinema, these pieces brilliantly blend together the unique colors represented in our world. Additionally, a special piece will be performed by the colorful “Klondike Kate” as a highlight of this concert event.
