2023 Hennepin County Master Gardener Volunteer Learning Garden Tour to Thrill, Inspire, and Educate

Hennepin Co., Minn. – Find your next garden inspiration at the 2023 Hennepin County Master Gardener Volunteer Learning Garden Tour taking place Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., rain or shine.

The tour highlights 10 gardens across the northern half of Hennepin County, including the communities of Corcoran, Crystal, Golden Valley, Long Lake, Loretto, Minneapolis, New Hope, Plymouth, Rogers, and Wayzata. The tour features a wide variety of garden settings and inspirational opportunities.

Nine of the stops are home gardens of Hennepin County Master Gardener volunteers, demonstrating landscapes that can be adapted to a wide variety of situations. The tenth garden is a special communal garden that serves the food needs of neighboring residents.

Each garden offers a unique opportunity to learn about the latest trends and techniques – with educational topics such as garden design, gardening for and with wildlife, and urban farming – all backed by university-based research.

With special focus on pollinators for 2023, the Hennepin County Master Gardener Volunteer Learning Garden Tour encourages you to help native and other pollinators thrive at home and in community spaces. Come learn gardening techniques that benefit butterflies, dragonflies, wasps, and more.

The tour also highlights gardening practices that are achievable in almost every setting and by the beginner or experienced gardener.

Tour features include:
• Ten one-of-a-kind gardens showcasing a wide variety of designs, locations, and styles.
• Gifts and goodies at the “Garden Shed,” offering many fun and useful gardening related accessories, and the “Book Nook” which is stocked with a wide variety of books for kids and adults.
• Featured plant lists and garden stories that can inspire your next gardening project.
• A chance to get trusted, reliable information when you chat with Hennepin County Master Gardener volunteers about your specific questions or concerns.
• A great opportunity to explore urban, suburban, and rural garden settings across Hennepin County.

Attendees will leave the garden tour inspired to start or continue work in their own backyards or small spaces.

Single tickets are $15 in advance; $20 on the day of the tour. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more. Children under 12 get in free with a paying adult. The tour is held rain or shine. All ticket sales are final.
