Yellowstone National Park’s two million acres of wilderness contain many stories, including one of the best case studies in wildlife conservation. Doug Smith led the project that reintroduced gray wolves to Yellowstone in the 1990s. Go behind the scenes—including never-before-seen photos and videos—of the quest to bring wolves back and the incredible changes that happened after they arrived.

The illegal trade of endangered species is one of wildlife’s biggest threats. Join us for this opportunity to meet innovative researchers and leaders in conservation at this new event benefiting the Minnesota Zoo Foundation and wildlife saving projects. Through interactive showcases, the Minnesota Zoo’s conservation team will share how they’re deploying revolutionary conservation efforts to save threatened and critically endangered species. Then, dive deeper during our program where Zoo and other leading experts will share more about why and how we’re working to reduce trafficked animals in Minnesota and around the world.

This family-friendly event at a historic farm will feature dinner from Mazopiya (with produce grown by Urban Roots), outdoor activities, live music, a silent auction, our Mobile Market, and more.

Urban Roots is a nonprofit that provides paid internships to youth on the East Side of Saint Paul. Youth interns develop leadership, entrepreneurial, and life skills through our Market Garden, Conservation, and Cook Fresh Programs.

Often referred to as a hidden gem by visitors, the Rivoli Bluff Farm and Restoration Site is our largest growing site for food distribution. The site also includes bee hives, a gravel bed tree nursery, community gardens, fruit tree orchard, and a Children’s Garden.

We hope to see you on July 29 for a fun event including:

-Fresh produce for sale from our Mobile Market, SNAP/EBT accepted
-Free coffee from Tiny Footprint Coffee (while supplies last)
-Sumo & Smoh Food Truck
-Tours
-Our Mobile Kitchen
-DJ Kool Akiem
-Children’s Garden activities
-Free face painting for kids, as time permits, provided by A Touch of Magic (11:30am-1:30pm)
-Community organization information tables, including Bell Museum, Capitol Region Watershed District, Dayton’s Bluff Community Council, East Side Freedom Library, The Good Acre, HOPE Community Academy, Minnesota State Horticultural Society’s MN SEED Project, Minnesota Tool Library, Mississippi Park Connection, Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District, Urban Boatbuilders, Urban Roots, and Wakan Tipi Awanyankapi
